FOOTBALL, ‘THE BEAUTIFUL GAME’

The UEFA European Championships are set to kick off  at the Stade de France, Saint Denis, France on June 10th at 15:00 GMT.  The opening game will feature host France against Romania in this the 15th such tournament and will  for the first time have 24 teams, competing in 6 groups.   EURO 2016 promises many exciting games and like all such tournaments could provide a few surprises. One is guaranteed to see some very exciting games, displays of exceptional skill and technical approaches second to none.

Robert Lewandowski (Poland). Ronaldo (Portugal). Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Sweeden), Koko (Spain), Paul Pogba (France), Jamie Vardy (England) Gareth Bale (Wales)Eden Hazard (Belgium) and Thomas Muller (Germany) are but a few of the glittering array of stars on show. In the land where Football is known as soccer  The Centennial Copa America kicks off later today in the city of Los Angelse. It is the first time that the competition is being held outside of South America and this is mainly for financial reasons.

 

 

The 2016-2017 Premier League season kicks of tomorrow and football lovers are hoping that after all the wheeling and dealing, big money transfers and installation of high profile managers that the proceedings produce games to match all the hype.
